In 1999, at the request of the Malheur Refuge manager, a small group of Refuge enthusiasts formed Friends of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.
From a modest start, the Friends, with support from its board of directors, members, and partners, has become an important National Wildlife Refuge support group.
As the Refuge faced many challenges over the years, the Friends of Malheur’s commitment to support the Refuge and dedication to our Mission and Vision has never wavered.
