October Refuge Stewardship Weekend

Friends of Malheur NWR Stewardship Volunteers are critical to meeting the needs of Malheur NWR. This fall work party will assist with various Refuge needs that are yet to be determined. Work may include: 

• Brush clearing and other groundskeeping
• Habitat Improvement-Fence Removal
• Work at the new Volunteer Campground
• Tending to the Pollinator Garden
• Habitat Improvement – Assisting with the Headquarters Dry-scaping project
• Dark Sky Project – Retrofitting light fixtures to reduce Malheur Refuge’s light output
• Other projects to be determined.

Housing at the Malheur Field Station in Dorm E (private rooms) will be provided by the Friends.
Donations to support housing costs are welcome.

Arrive at Malheur Field Station on Friday by 4:00 PM or after.
Work Saturday from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM + Breaks and on Sunday 8:30 am to Noon
If the work is complete on Saturday, Sunday morning will be open for volunteers to enjoy the Refuge.
Check-out at Malheur Field Station is Sunday by 12:00 PM
