Migrate Through Malheur

June 1 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Friends of Malheur NWR are celebrating 25yrs of promoting conservation and appreciation of the Refuge’s natural and cultural resources. Join us for this FREE public event to explore and learn!

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Migrate Malheur; Birders, biologists and general Malheur enthusiasts will be stationed as docents at key birding hotspots along the Auto Tour Route. These folks will be eager to share their sightings along with information about the natural and cultural history of the sites you visit. We are excited to share the thrill of Birding and Exploring Malheur with you!

The Malheur NWR Auto Tour Route is a self guided exploration of the Refuge’s open access areas. This drive takes you through the heart of the Refuge over 42 miles of breathtaking landscape views, rich geological and cultural history along with an abundance of wildlife to observe! Enjoy the FREE accompanying CD or downloadable audio to escort you along the way.

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Birthday Picnic; Join us at Refuge Headquarters for food and fun! We will have the grill going and plenty of sides. Food will be inclusive to all dietary needs and preferences. Grab a slice of cake and wish the Friends of Malheur NWR a Happy 25th Birthday!
