The Friends of Malheur NWR is turning 25 in 2024 and to commemorate this milestone, we are celebrating every month with a special guest speaker.

Harney County Collaboratives & Malheur NWR
High Desert Partnership is a local nonprofit that has been operating since 2005, by working together HDP has found practical ways to tackle some of our community’s hardest challenges—restoring forests and wetlands, mitigating wildfire, creating opportunities for youth, and growing our local economy. In this presentation Melissa Petschauer the Harney Basin Ecological Coordinator for High Desert Partnership, will be discussing the history and projects of the Harney Basin Wetlands Collaborative and the Malheur NWR Comprehensive Conservation Plan Collaborative and where the collaboratives hope to go in the future.
