The Friends of Malheur NWR is turning 25 in 2024 and to commemorate this milestone, we are celebrating every month with a special guest speaker.
For January’s presentation, we welcome Travis Miller, Malheur NWR’s Supervisory Ecologist. His presentation will be on:
Managing Malheur’s Challenges
Travis will take us behind the scenes at Malheur NWR and discuss the management challenges they face from the wet meadows to Malheur Lake. The Refuge is 187,000 acres of diverse habitat that support over 340 species of birds and 53 species of mammals in addition to fish, reptiles and amphibians. Learn about what Travis and his team are up against and how they are approaching responsible and responsive habitat management.
