The annual Harney County Migratory Bird Festival coincides with early spring migration of many birds through the Harney Basin. Highlights include a wide diversity of tours, workshops, presentations and a banquet featuring author and renownded birder, Kenn Kaufman, as the keynote speaker! Want to volunteer? Volunteers will assist with Friends of Malheur tabling and sales are the Bird Festival Art Show & Sale. Shifts are AM or PM and 5 hrs long. The work will require standing, operating a point…

This walk is 1 mile loop along paved and graveled pathways with some hills. Meet at the deck of the Refuge Visitor Center. To carpool meet at 8:00 AM at the Burns Safeway. Park along the side of the building.

This walk is 1-2 mile loop across uneven terrain with no designated trails. Meet at the parking area of the Hot Springs. To carpool meet at 8:00 AM at the Burns Safeway. This walk is a 3 mile hike rough or uneven terrain with steep hills. Meet at the OHV Parking area along Hines Logging Road. To carpool meet at 8:00 AM at the Burns Safeway.
