Friends Welcome Kaitlin Clark!

Friends of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is pleased to welcome Kaitlin Clark as the new Crane’s Nest Nature Center & Store Manager, beginning April 30, 2026. Kaitlin brings a strong and varied background that blends retail experience, volunteer management, conservation knowledge, and a deep appreciation for Oregon’s wildlife and landscapes.

Kaitlin’s professional path reflects both versatility and purpose. Her experiences give her a broad skill set that will serve her well in managing the daily operations of the Crane’s Nest and various Friends projects including outreach and events. She has worked with volunteer programs and leading field crews demonstrating strengths in leadership and public engagement. These are qualities that align closely with the community-centered mission of Friends of Malheur.

Arriving to live and work in Harney County is an adventure that Kaitlin is eager to embark on. She has lived in the Klamath Basin and has a deep passion for the region’s natural places and wildlife. She shared that returning to Oregon feels like coming home. Her interest in birds, education, and organizational growth makes her a wonderful fit for the Crane’s Nest, where visitor services, retail operations, and public outreach all come together.

Kaitlin has expressed enthusiasm for building on the strengths of the Crane’s Nest while also exploring ways to expand its reach through community connections, interpretation, and visitor engagement. She values thoughtful, steady growth and is eager to contribute to the long-term success of the Friends’ work at Malheur.

We are excited to welcome Kaitlin to the Friends of Malheur team and look forward to the energy, experience, and perspective she will bring to the Crane’s Nest and the Refuge community.
